Why do teeth get yellow?

Typically, there are two reasons why teeth become yellow over time.

One is age and use. The pulp (centre) of the tooth is naturally yellow in colour and as the enamel becomes worn, it becomes more visible.

The other is staining from food and drink. The most common culprits are wine, coffee and dark fizzy drinks.

You’d be amazed at what a professional clean and polish will do to your smile.

This is generally the first place that we start when getting your oral health back into check, and an essential step before doing any cosmetic treatments such as teeth whitening.

The most common and cost-effective way to brighten your teeth is with teeth whitening with a dental professional.

However, if your teeth have been stained by tetracycline, we recommend that your teeth are whitened by the application of veneers.

Veneers are a fantastic option if you’re unable to do teeth whitening.

Even if you are eligable for teeth whitening, if you’re wanting to correct chipped or crooked teeth – this may be the way to go.
